My Little Pony
I’ve got an order to do a cake with Rarity from My Little Pony on top. I’ve googled Rarity and found out she is a silver unicorn with purple hair!! Should I use white sugarpaste and dust with silver lustre, or can I get silver sugarpaste? I’ve looked online and cannot see any.

You can’t get silver sugarpaste I’m afraid. I would use grey coloured sugarpaste and either brush or spray with pearl or silver lustre. I find the PME cans of lustre spray fantastic as they give you nice even coverage but I would recommend opening your back door and holding the cake/model outside to spray as the sparkle floats through the air and attaches to everything (my other half went to work one day with a beautifully sparkling navy fleece jacket).

Another vote for the PME lustre spray – I used it for cutlery, and it made it super shiny. Just start with grey sugarpaste, which I always just make by using a little black fondant in some white.
