has anyone made their own flower paste with tylo powder – if so how long does it last as I have had for over a week and has gone a weird consistency – not elastic – any ideas – can it be resurrected.

I make my own gum paste and flower paste, sometimes the consistency goes a bit funny if I add too much gum tragacanth or tylose powder. I find it goes very hard even if I’ve stored it properly. Rubbing some trex or adding just ordinary fondant in helps to make it more elastic. If you type ‘clark baxter’ in the search box it will take you to some recipes which you might like to try out. x
