RECIPE CONVERSIONS FOR BALL CAKE TINS

Hi all i have a 8 x 4 inch hemisphere cake pan which i have to bake in 2 halves 20cm Dia. x 10cm H. (8” x 4”).how do i go about converting a recipe i’m just going to use Mrs Jones sponge as the base not sure if the shape of the cake pan makes a difference to how i convert it.. should i just make up 2 x 8×4 inch rounds??

Hi pistolaki

This is what you do:
To reduce the ingredients of a recipe from a round cake to a hemispherical cake you have to reduce the quantities to two thirds of the original ( 2 over 3). That will make one hemisphere so you have to do it twice to fill both hemispheres.
