Hi, I am about to begin the peppa pig cake for my sons 3rd birthday…how far in advance can I make all the models for the cake? Also, is there anywhere Incan buy very small quantities of the required sugar paste and how much cmc do I run through it?

You can make models weeks in advance. I don’t know where you live, but most cake suppliers sell small or large quantities. Probably best to google suppliers nearby. To add tylose, take a golfball size of fondant, add 1/2 tsp tylose and knead it well. You feel the consistency change to firm, if you add too much, it gets hard to knead, so you will have to add more fondant. You have the right consistency when the fondant pulls nicley apart and isn’t stretchy. Don’t add tylose too far in advance or it will set, any unused portions, wrap tightly in cling film.
