Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A
Renshaw white chocolate paste.
I was wondering if anyone has tried the Renshaw white chocolate paste for the chocolate wrap cake? It is a good bit cheaper than the Squires Kitchen cocoform, but was wondering if it works as good as the SK brand. Any comments would be appreciated.

I have used Tracey Mann’s chocolate paste and with very good results. It is a lot cheaper than Squires and tastes better in my opinion! www.traceyscakes.co.uk Good Luck
Hi Susan. Yes, I have made two with the white paste and one with the milk chocolate. They all got raved about 🙂
Hi apple-drop
Renshaw’s make white chocolate flavoured sugar paste and a dark chocolate flavoured one too. These are just flavoured icings which wouldn’t really hold shape due to the weight and drying time. If we’re not talking about the same product ignore my answer. x
Hi Apple-drop,
I agree with miwl. Cocoform and the chocolate paste are two completely different products and I doubt very much that the paste would work.
Oh, that is very interesting, thanks for that Bettina! Does it hold and keep it shape well on the chocolate wrap cake?
Well I must give that a try, so much cheaper! Does it handle the same as the cocoform, easy to roll etc?
Have just had a look at Tracey Mann’s chocolate paste on her website. It states that it is made from Belgium chocolate and does not contain any sugarpaste.
Hi. Sorry have been busy!! Yes, it does hold well and because of the ingredients; tastes delicious 🙂 Tricky in the warm weather but I put the strips in the fridge, before attaching to the cake 🙂
