Hi gegelinka

Gum paste with gum tragacanth powder has to rest for approximately 12 – 24 hours for best results. I use it all the time and find it makes stronger models than tylose or cmc powder. I add1 teaspoon to 250 g of sugar paste, knead it in and leave to rest. Some people prefer to use 200 – 220 g sugar paste and add more powder if required. The gum paste has to be kneaded well before use, a little trex/ crisco helps to soften it. Perhaps try using a little less powder to begin with and see whether you achieve better results.
