timing for a cake start to finish

Hi i am about to make my first cake for my grandson, i want to use Pauls chocolate cake and ganache. Can I bake the cake 1 day ganache the next and sugar paste and decorate the 3rd or would I be better backing and ganaching first day cover 2nd and decorate 3rd ?

Hi Marcia

Yes it would be better to ganache the day after baking and continue the decorating the day after that. The cake will be nicely settled. Once the cake is baked wrap it up in a food bag and put it in a cake box then place in the fridge. Paul’s chocolate cake is very moist and handles better when cool and firm. Hope your Grandson has a lovely birthday. Good cake choice!
