Hello, please i am struggling to understand how to use a reckoner to work out recipe portion quantities i tried sometimes ago to use it, i couldn’t just get it. In this brilliant tutorial thought by paul, he asked us to use the reckoner to work out other portion quantities using 10″ square as a starting point now how can we go about that when the recipe listed are for both 10 and 6″?

Hello omo-tee

The whole recipe which is for the two round cakes will fill one 10″ square pan, that means this recipe is also for one 10″ square pan.
When you go to the ready reckoner go to the square columne and find 10″. If you still can’t do it try the cakeometer. If you are still having problems let me know what it is you’d like to convert and I will make the conversion for you.

thank you will try it and then get back to you. Please what is the name of the cocoa powder Paul used instead if cadbury cocoa powder?

Hello omo-tee

The recipe uses cocoa powder for baking not cadbury’s which is for making hot chocolate drinks. Baking cocoa powder will read 100% cocoa and can be found in the baking aisle of the supermarket. Hope this helps.
