Standing golf bag cake

Hi, I’d like to make a smaller version of the golf bag cake for my brother. What size cake and how many should I use to reduce this cake to the right proportions? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi Liwylou75

For the cake in the tutorial Paul advised to bake off 6″ cakes. What you could do is reduce his measurments for the stand to how ever big you want your bag to be and bake off 4″ cakes or small sheet cakes. If I was doing a smaller version I would make sheet cakes and cut off the amounts required to fill the stand. To quote Paul ‘sometimes you need to wing it’.
As far as I can see there are no measurements written down for the stand on the templates. I take this as to scale for the tutorial cake. You could download the templates and reduce them to your own requirements. Paul talks through how he derived his measurements in the first lesson, so if you wanted to make your own templates, just follow his verbal instructions on how to begin your measurements.
I’m sure other members will say how they would reduce the size of this very large cake!
