Red Velvet Cake – Frosting

Hi everyone

Need to make red velvet with cream cheese filling and cover with fondant. This weekend talks of being very hot. would this last okay if I made Thursday and covered ready for Saturday or do I need to pop into the fridge. Just worried it will dry out if in fridge but also do not want curdled frosting either? please help

Hi cadburymoon

Cream cheese filling can’t be left out at all unless it is in a very cool environment like airconditioning. I would recommend using chocolate buttercream and Lorann oil cream cheese flavour as an alternative. Cream cheese filling is really too risky, not worth the worry from arising problems. Hope this helps x

Hi madeitwithlove
sound advice again as always. what would I do without you!

Lor Ann cream cheese flavouring is amazing. as is the hummungbird recipe for red velvet cake, highly recommend and customer was very very pleased with both cake and icing flavour. xx

HI Woodysmum

You can get it in the cake decorating company and also Amazon. Just google it by name to see other suppliers too.

Hi Cadburymoon!
Where can I find hummingbird recipe for red velvet? I wanna make a cake for my brother in law on his birthday as red velvet is his favorite but it’s my first time making it so don’t have any idea which might be the best and soft one.

One more question from the experts please
I’ve checked amazon and it has red velvet, coffee and cream cheese flavorings from lorann and I wanna know if they are just used in icing? Or can be used instead of vanilla essence in cakes? (The bottle says “coffee bakery emulsion” )
