1. Stacking and carving
In this lesson, Molly prepares the cake and quickly carves a simple shape that is then covered with a thin layer of ganache for covering. Don’t get too hung up on the carved shape being perfect as the more natural the batter.
2. Covering the cake
Molly manages to cover the cake in one large piece of white sugarpaste which keeps things nice and simple. Now it’s time to get rid of the corners using scissors and then it’s stitchy tool time.
3. Covering the board
Molly now takes out a lovely light pink sugarpaste and covers the board in sections and lines it using a palette knife which decorates it at the same time as hiding the joins.
4. Making the accessories pt 1
In this lesson, Molly shows us how to make the realistic contents that sit in the front pocket of the bag. The key is to use thick sugarpaste to help create and maintain the shapes.
5. Adding the quilt and strap
Molly starts off by adding the pocket to the front of the bag and then shows us how to make a cute little blanket as well as the strap for the bag.
6. Making the accessories pt 2
Molly now makes some more accessories including nappies, more baby necessities and a very convincing edible box of cotton buds.
7. Making the accessories part 3
Molly now shows us how to make a few more of the small accessories before adding the finishing touches.
8. Finishing touches
Here Molly adds all the final pieces including a cute teddy and elephant doll which only take minutes to make as well dummies and the other key accessories.
