Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A
Archery themed cake – need guidance on one item!
Good evening,
I am working on a “Green Arrow” themed cake and want to make a few arrows using dowel rods in the bullseye on top of the cake. I have been searching for information on how to get the pieces to stick to the side of the dowel rod at the top of the arrow.
Would I cut the gumpaste shape the thickness of the dowel and let sit then attach using gum glue.
Appreciate any guidance.
Thank you

Thank you for the response and link. I used dowel rod, a teardrop cutter and gumpaste. The arrows came out great as well as the cake!
Hi Swinbley
Have a look at the following arts and crafts guide:
Use the guide but use edible components with your dowel. You could use gumpaste to make the quiver or it could be made with wafer paper. For glue, melt a little white chocolate and place it in a small parchment piping bag. Cut off a small tip to release the chocolate and use for sticking the quivers. I Hope this makes sense. Please let me know if you’re fine with the information. 🙂
Brilliant! Thank you for feed back. ?
