I’m going to make vanilla cake but, iv only got one 10inch cake tin.
Would it be ok for the mixture to be left standing whilst one is baking.

If you haven’t already made the mixture, it would be better if you divide the recipe in half . Bake one half and then mix up the second. A standing mixture might be ok if you retard the leavening by placing the batter in the fridge. It doesn’t always work with bigger quantities. I’ve done it with Victoria sandwich batter and it’s been fine but can’t vouch for a deeper mix.
