GBBO – when baking goes wrong!
Channel 4 news presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy has described his recent GBBO ordeal as “soul destroying”.
The well-renowned TV personality was taking part in a special celebrity bake-off for Stand Up to Cancer but his performance fell a little ‘flat’ shall we say?
A not so helping hand
The Channel 4 journalist was getting ready to turn his lemon drizzle cake when GBBO host Sandi Toksvig decided to lend a helping hand.
The GBBO host took it upon herself to turn the cake with Krishnan. However, the majority of the cake didn’t successfully make the trip over as the cake was dropped mid way!
You can take a look at the incident below for yourself (bakers get ready to grimace!)…

Sandi was quick to pass the blame on to Krishnan after the disaster claiming “you let go” before leaving the crime scene! And the Channel 4 presenter did take responsibility tweeting after the show aired that “This was clearly my fault. It was a trap. I fell into it.”
Krishnan didn’t do much to redeem himself either during the judging of his cake. With both Great British Bake Off judges, Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, both complaining that his lemon drizzle cake “wasn’t even cooked”.
Overall, it’s fair to say it wasn’t a successful televised baking debut for Krishnan Guru-Murthy. However, we’re more than happy to offer him a membership at CakeFlix and we’ll have him displaying at Cake International in no time! ?
All wasn’t lost though, as the journalist did manage to make it on to the latest Celebrity Bake Off Innuendo…
Absolute filth. Down with that sort of thing. ??? #GBBO @krishgm @NicolaAdamsOBE @carolineflack1 pic.twitter.com/hm1ouQCZqj
