Hi Barbara

I’ve tried the recipe calculator and it is working fine for me. It may be that you are making an input error. Please select the correct shape and size for the recipe you are using. Then select the shape and size to which you would like to scale. Alternatively, I can make the calculation for you if you let me have your recipe. We do also have Mrs Jones’ vanilla cake recipe on the site. It is already loaded into the calculator and can be accessed by using the down arrow in the select a recipe tab.

Thank you MIWL
I chose one calculation and it seems to have worked out. The first time i calculated it said to use 8 eggs and next time it said 12 eggs. I went with the 12 because it was basically an 8oz victoria cake x 3 (4 eggs x 3). The other ingredients differed by a few grams only.

That’s so strange as it comes out ok this end. Thank you so much for getting back with your results. ?

I am doing a 6″ x 3″ square cake. What is the cooking time for this?

Hi Dyan Rhodes

Try baking for 1hr 45mins. Please use your own judgment after 1hr 30mins as times vary according to each oven. This is just a guide. ?
