How do you prevent gritty buttercream please?

To prevent gritty buttercream, sift the powdered sugar well and have the butter soft so it combines easily with the sugar. If it still feels gritty, add a couple of teaspoons of hot water to help melt the sugar. Mix well with the paddle attachment of the stand mixer.
I’m not a buttercream person but sometimes it has to be made. In this case, I usually add 100 grams of melted white chocolate to make it smoother. Hope this works for you.
