Edible printing/”Barbie” pink
Hi, can anyone offer any assistance or advice on getting a hot “Barbie” pink colour when doing edible prints. I have tried every setting and combination under the sun but can only get either a sludgy brown or a magenta colour. Definitely not Barbie … My printer is a Canon TS705a. I’ve also tried a new (different brand) set of inks but no luck. Thanks for any hints/tips!

Hi Sue,
If your printer inks and heads are good then the colour will likely be down to the resolution of the image that you are printing from.
Barbie Pink is Hex Code (pantone) #e0218a. The printing image should be at least 300dpi (dots per inch – hi res) in order for the pantone to transfer to the printer.
Hope that helps 🙂
Hi SueC
I don’t know enough about printers and edible inks, so I won’t attempt to answer your question. You will have a much better response on the Cakeflix family Facebook page.

Hope this helps and that you get the correct information. 🙂
Thank you!
Thanks David. Unfortunately no luck with this. This pantone reference prints perfectly on a normal printer, but I am still getting sludge brown on the edible printer. So I can only assume it is the edible inks. If anyone can recommend a specific ink brand which does work that would be very helpful.
