Recipe Required | CakeFlix’s Q&A on Recipes
Hello all,
Does anyone have a full recipe for a vanilla sponge cake in a 13×13 inch square tin?
I’m making a birthday cake in a couple of weeks and I’ve lost the recipe I used last time I made a cake of this size and shape and cannot find a replacement recipe for the life of me!
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ideally I’d like a full recipe I can follow rather than anything I would need to “scale up” as maths isn’t my strong suit 😅
Thanks so much!x

Hi SunflowerVol97
You don’t have to worry about maths to calculate rescaling another recipe. Cakeflix has easy to use calculators here:
Select the re calculate recipe and enter the ingredients of any recipe that needs scaling up/ or down. The calculator allows for square or round cakes, it gives you the answer straight away.
Also on Cakeflix, tutor Mrs Jones has a lovely vanilla cake recipe which is here:
However, you can use any recipe you like. I can also recommend with confidence, Jane Hornby’s vanilla cake recipe which can be found on the BBC good food site.
Please come back if you still need more information or help. 🙂
