Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A
How to line a cake tin
I can never line a cake tin properly, particularly square tins. Is it possible please to have a tutorial to show how it should be done?

It’s better to watch so search you tube ‘how to line a tin’. (I have answered this twice but nothing is appearing in answers)
Hi Jayess, thank you for your answer again! I think your last answer was accidentally deleted by Paul Doffman when he was trying to do something else. He has apologised some where on the site. Thanks again, oh and I still can’t line a cake tin —– hey ho dum di dum is too old to learn now (lol).
I use wilton cake release, never had any tins stick
I’m not a fan of cake release since it left such dreadful residue on my pans. I have asked on other sites how to remove the residue. There are a variety of answers but on the whole, people agree that a certain amount of stickiness remains despite thorough cleansing. I much prefer lining my tins, however, thanks for taking an interest in my question.
Oh dear madeitwithlove, it really is so easy I wish I could stand next to you and show you. Let me have a think and I will try to write some simple instructions (I’m not very good verbally, much better ‘hands on’). Watch this space!
I’m watching the space Jayess, you’d have a fit if you could see the way I line cake tins, eh! cakes come out yummy though!! thank you xx
