Does anyone know if there is something I can spray on my cake dummies to stop them from fading ?

I am just guessing that there isn’t as you see shops with fading dummies.  Could be wrong!  You could experiment with a spray varnish, although I think this might make fondant sticky.  Keeping dummies out of the light helps (as in a box).

I googled ‘how to preserve a cake dummy with fondant’ and saw an interesting answer http://www.wilton.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=4&threadid=134413  The question is where to buy perma ice in uk or is it worth getting it shipped over?

I think it’s just to do with the sun and the light that makes it fade. What about adding hairspray or something maybe that would preserve it?
