Hi

Why not have a go with Pauls chocolate cake recipe, should be more than enough batter for both halves. I’ve got one of these silicone giant cupcake moulds, but not used it yet, but I have been advised that using a release agent really helps to remove the cake from the tin.

Thanks for that Sharon.
I wanted an excuse to try that one, didn’t occur to do it for the giant cupcake.
I have made the giant cupcake before, I sprayed the tin with a little spray oil and it came out really easily, there was a slight oiliness to the sponge, which I didn’t like, but as soon as it has buttercream on, you didn’t notice in the slightest.

let me know how the recipe went Mazie, as I want to try it as well, I’d hoped Paul was going to cut into it, during the tutorial, but it looked pretty good in the tin.

We’re filming the beach scene tomorrow which we be published next Thursday (5th July) I’ll cut into the baked cakes then and show them throughout.

We tend to use greaseproof paper rather than spraying the tin as it will prevent the oily layer connecting with the sponge.

Hope this helps. Px
