what about modelling out of rice krispies and covering in paste and decorate?
not done it yet but have heard it works..
What about a chocolate teapot
She wants to do it in paste of some sort so it can be painted with pretty patterns
How about making a gum paste teapot? also depends how big a teapot you want as that would impact on weight. If you make one from gum paste you could sit it on it’s own small cake board and use dowels for extra support when sitting it on the cake. To make a gum paste teapot make a ball and shape it, make a spout, stick it on with strong edible glue or royal icing then make a handle, a lid with a small bobble and stick those on. You could decorate it with small cut out flowers or just lustre dust it, may be add a bit of gold rim detail. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the sugesstions & answers, i will pass it on.
If you can afford it and have a DVD that plays USA dvd’s (although they said it was region free) http://www.petalcrafts.com/instructional-dvd-teapot-set-in-gumpaste.html at least it has a picture and a short video! I also looked on you tube as there is quit a bit on there.
