Hi guys,

Ive been asked too do a 3 tier thistle and rose wedding cake for a family friend, which is fine. The bride has also asked for black to be incorporated as there is black in her dress. Being my first wedding cake im conscious of colours, has anyone done anything similar. I was thinking black ribbon but as mentioned im wary it will look off.

how long have you got till the wedding?

you could always cover three dummies of the same size and decorate them use the ribbon or maybe do a black royal icing pearl border or something.

but if you use the dummie then you get an idea how it will look and then you can ask the bride which one she prefers,
