Hello Everyone

Can you believe it’s almost time for the cake show at the NEC? I’m so excited, can’t wait to get there and have a good moochy around. Just wondering how many of our members will there too and what sort of things you’ll all be looking for. I’m hoping to get some ideas for Christmas, have booked in with Paul on Saturday for the handbag demonstration and a couple of others too over the three days. I got some great bargains at the Excel show, hopefully there will more at Birmingham. Are you going? What will you be looking for? How will we recognise each other?

Just to let you all know that Paul will be there all weekend. I’ll be going too on the Saturday and shooting a little video for our blog. I’m really looking forward to it hopefully I will see some of you there 🙂

Oh I am soo jealous….I was desperate to go but cant manage to get time off work!!….will just have to make do with reading all about it in Cake magazine!.I would be like a kid in a sweet shop!!….Have a great time.x

Well I’m going on Sunday 11th, and luckily for my husband, I’m going on a coach, with 2 other sugarcraft friends, so he won’t have to find somewhere to pass away the time, while I’m having a good look around. I fancy buying the sweetwise mat, and I’ll no doubt be spending a bit on other stuff, that i don’t think I’ll be able to live without, mainly pastes, cutters, etc…. sadly I’m a sucker for gadgets and anything new.

I will be going with possibly both my daughters, one is not too well at the moment so we will see. I have never been to one of these shows so I do not know much about it and don’t have an agenda as such…I expect if people gather around Paul if he is there most likely will be members who know of his work etc. I will only be there for one day and not sure, till I book the coach, which day yet.

I can’t wait either. I guess I would be interested in sampling new edibles such as fondant etc or seeing them used and maybe learning a few new techniques. My youngest daughter likes making cupcakes whereas I like doing the traditional wedding and celebration cakes.

You may recognise me as my eldest daughter who has autism will be hanging onto my right arm all day !…lol My youngest looks very much like a younger version of me. I will be wearing a tan leather jacket with light coloured fur trim and I expect my eldest will be wearing a camouflage jacket. I bet you can pick us out right away!

I have the original sweetwise mat and love it. Now they have a new one out that has the measures on it, I always said it would be better with markings on…I may well be tempted to get a new one. I will be going by coach too from Liverpool, where will yo be going from?

I can’t wait. I intended to go in march to the show in manchester,as its closer to home but I can’t wait that long. so maybe i’ll do both. I’m very much a beginner so this will be the first show for me and my partner is driving us there on the sunday. I’m so excited, i’ll be the one with huge eyes and my mouth wide open as I try to take it all in.

I have The Mat as well….I got my American friend to bring one back for me when she went home on holiday last year but I have gone back to rolling out my icing because I found I was rolling it out too thin but the new one with the markings on it would be much better.
Oh I wish I could go to NEC but I live in Aberdeen and it costs a small fortune to get down to Birmingham!!,never mind hopefully next year….Enjoy! x

I’m going on the Saturday, never been to a show like this before, can’t wait! Will be looking for some embossing mats for cupcakes and other things that take my fancy – oh dear could be expensive! I am travelling from Livingston but luckily have family who live half an hour away who we’re staying with. Where is everyone else travelling from?

Hubby and I are coming up from the South West of England, not too bad a journey up the M5 & M42 but we will be towing a large caravan so hoping for fair weather. I’m going to look at the textured rolling pins, embossing mats sound too good to miss. I can see my Christmas shopping money dwindling! Going to take David’s advice and wait for the last day before I go on a spree. Oh dear me, so much to buy, so little time to buy it all in, as if I need any more stuff!!!!

I’m going on the Friday and also travelling up from the south west (weston super mare). I’m dragging my husband and 9 year old daughter with me. I’ve never been before so really looking forward to it. Perhaps we should all wear a pink carnation lol x

I’ll be there on the Saturday, I’m coming from central Scotland and bringing my sister-in-law. We need PBSS member badges that we can write our user names on..!

I think Doodlecake has a good idea….a plain badge with PBSS just initials on and our usernames written on. Should be easy enough to do at home.

It would be lovely to put faces to the names and be able to discuss in future what we are doing. x

Hang on, I’m going to email David and ask if he would be able to print off some branded stickers with a space for our user name! Will let you know if possible…

I think large blue rosettes would be more visible. I’m as blind as bat and would probably miss a badge!

Loving the enthusiasm and would be amazing to see members having something to recognise one another – great idea will get the thinking cap on and come up with something. Will post back here.
