Having your wedding on a beach would be incredible, so why not have a beach cake to match?!
We had the lovely Valerie from Cake Magic in Spain, filming her tutorial with us this week. She mentioned that she has been inundated with cake orders for beach weddings in Spain and we couldn’t help but be a little bit jealous. Yes we do have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world in Scotland, but unless your bride is wearing a jumper, it maybe very unlikely that you get as many beach weddings as the rest of the world!
So for the rest of the world (hehe!), we have a few lovely beach themed cake tutorials available on our website, which so many of our followers have already tried out!
Which one is your favourite?
Whether you are keeping it fun and colourful, or simple and shabby chic, then both work so well!
We asked our followers on Facebook to share their beach themed cakes with us for our #CakeShareFriday. Here are a few of our favourite beach trends below…
Beach Wedding Cake Luxe!
Clockwise from left:
Silver Beach Cake by Art of Cakes by Sylvia
Watercolour Beach Cake by Jodi Dillon
Seashells and Sand Cake by NJL Creations
These three cakes, combine the beautiful beach theme, with the use of lovely seashells, ruffles and “sand” and at the same time, maintain a luxurious and contemporary feel, with the use of the metallic colours! Beautiful!
Beach Hut Cakes
Holiday Cake by Julie Sommerville
Beach Hut Cake by Linda Alisson
With the addition of a beach hut to your cake, as well as little props such as the flip-flops, palm trees etc, you can create the ideal cake for someone’s surprise holiday, honeymoon or favourite beach destination!
Blue Hues of the Sea Cakes
Dripping Blue Cake by Jodi Dillon
Blue Ruffle Cake by Bon Appetit Cakes
Just because someone is having a beach wedding, doesn’t mean you have to focus on just seashells and the sand! What about bringing in beautiful blue hues of the sea like these cakes photographed above? I love the dripping effect of the first cake, combined with the semi naked finish – very on trend at the moment. I also think the blue ruffles used in Bon Appetit’s cake is a really clever way of reminding you of the waves – perfect cake for a surfing fan!
Thank you!
Thank you to everyone who posted their beach themed cakes! I hope these cakes have given you some inspiration for creating your very own beach cake! Now enough talk about beach cakes, and someone put us in their suitcase and take us to a beach please?! Hehe!
What is your beach cake style?
