Mrs Jones: Passion in the Baking has been highly commended for her famous Vanilla Sponge cake.
Our resident baker received the prestigious the award from Mich Turner MBE at the 2014 Scottish Baker of the Year Awards last month. The selection process saw Mrs Jones nominated by her customers then she had to produce a range of bakery classics for the judges to mull over, quite literally. And while I have not had the chance to experience Mrs Jones baking ability in other areas I can certainly testify to the taste and texture of the cakes and fillings.
Achieving that moist but firm recipe is a difficult task to master, but week after week cakes pop out Mrs Jones’ oven whether its for a birthday cake, wedding cake or cake decorating courses there’s a conveyor belt of goodies produced in the kitchen.
We were delighted, but not surprised, to hear about this award as it just verifies the quality that Mrs Jones brings to the site through her baking tutorials. We have already booked in some additional dates towards the end of the year where cake fillings will be the top priority where many more of Mrs Jones’ recipes will be shared with everyone.
