1. Explaining the design, carving and ganaching
In this lesson, Paul explains the design for the Panda before quickly carving and applying ganache to the body.
2. Covering the body
After revealing a special competition, Paul begins to cover the body with sugarpaste.
3. Covering the board and adding a ribbon
In this lesson, Paul covers the board and adds a ribbon to give the design some extra pizzazz.
4. Using a stencil and colouring
With help from the Sweet Stamp; a new tool sent over by AmyCakes, Paul adds lettering to the board.
5. Making the pandas' belly
We move back to the body next as Paul transfers the cake to the board before creating the circle shapes for the panda’s belly.
6. Adding the paws, arms and tail
In this next lesson, Paul crafts the wonderfully delicate paws for the Panda, along with the arms and cute little tail.
7. Carving the head
It’s now time to pull out the polystyrene and carve the shape of the pandas head.
8. Covering the head
In this lesson, Paul rolls out the fondant once again and shows you how to smoothly cover the head of the panda.
9. Making the pandas eyes
Time to move on to the eyes as Paul shows you how to bring out the blue in the panda’s eyes.
10. Mouth and nose
Paul adds the mouth and the panda’s cute little nose before bringing the head and body together.
11. Giving the panda ears
We’re almost finished now as Paul finishes the panda cake by adding on the ears.
12. Finishing touches
The only thing left now is to bring the panda to life. paul achieves this by adding some extra detail using his brush whilst showing you how you could also create a fur effect for the design if you’d like, using scissors.
