1. Explaining the design
Before we get started Paul goes over the design for the cake, showing the internal structure and how to put it together.
2. Making it food safe
Paul uses tin foil to make the cake food safe then adds the cake to the structure in preparation for the chicks body.
3. Carving and ganaching
Next up Paul shows how to carve and ganache a simple cake shape.
4. Covering the cake and texturing
In this lesson, Paul covers the cake and uses a mat to give the chick some texture.
5. Adding the head
In this short lesson, Paul moulds the head and adds it to the body before putting on the chicks beak.
6. Adding the wings
Now our Easter Chick is beginning to take shape as we move on to the wings.
7. Icing the board
In this lesson, Paul first textures the icing then shows you how to cover the board around the internal structure.
8. Airbrushing the chick
Paul now brings the Chick to life by adding colour using the airbrush.
9. Making the dungarees
Time to move to the more technical aspect of the Chick as we make the dungarees using sugar paste.
10. Airbrushing the dungarees
Time to get the airbrush out again as we give a little colour to the dungarees.
11. Adding the facial features and finishing touches
On to the final lesson, Paul finishes the chick by adding eyes and painting our chick!
