1. Hibiscus Cascade
In this lesson Steve shows you how to use the outside wire shape of flowers to be used as a cutter and former for each petal. The flower shape is also used to create tri- coloured textured flowers to be used as direct applique for the side of the cake. Taping of flowers, and creating silver wired spirals forming the first cake project.
2. Pink Popsicle
Continuing with the five petal flower theme, Steve shows you how to create a simple hibiscus flower, with the side design incorporating a trailing leaf design, which is also complemented with wired leaves and buds. The side design also includes pressure piped pearls.
3. Etched in Gold
A bold blue background allows for this decorative technique, which was inspired from enamelling to be applied to the flower shape which is painted with golds and blue and the surface sugar can then be etched. Steve will show you how to create wired gelatine gold flowers and a royal iced filigree design.
4. Tangerine Dream
The use of contrasting colours combined with metallic gold decorative flowers and leaves feature on this cake. Steve will show you how to create an open fretwork flower design and explain different ways the design can be used. Adding the finishing touches with floral pressure piping.
5. Other Ideas
Here, Steve shares some other ideas to you on your own cakes.
