Thank You I leanrt brilliant things with your tutorial
Nice neat clean finish great I am smiling
I always wondered about how to cover a cake board with sugar paste.
So your information really helped. Thank YOU.
It was awesome!
How long in advance should the cake board be iced before putting the cake onto it
It should be fine right away. There are lots of different ways to ice a board though and a lot of the time there is no icing under the cake. If you watch all these videos you should get a pretty good idea of the different techniques.

You make it so easy, thank you.
Hi Paul, thanks again for this class, does it mean you can only use panel icing to cover a board for square cake?
Hi,
I don’t see why you could not do this with a round board but maybe its not the best technique. Maybe the throw over would be better. You could always ask in our Q&A

REally nice tutorials!! I would like to what kind/brand of sugar paste you use. IT seems to be so flexible and nice to work with it. I make my own paste because the place were I live the only options are satin ice or wilton… and I dont like… any suggestion to have a soft and flexible paste?
Thanks a lot

why did the icing get slimmy after the cake sat on it for a day?
Hi clayberrycakes, this could be due to condensation as talked about here – http://www.designer-cakes.com/questions/sticky-cakes

I have made the cake layers for my friends wedding cake (some chocolate, some madeira) and I have frozen them (double wrapped) to save me time as it was quite a lot of cakes to make at once. If the wedding is one week today (sat 20th), when would you suggest I defrost them. Any tips for how to do this (ie let them defrost in their wrapping or unwrap them??) advice greatly appreciated.
Marisa
Hi Marisa, you can find more advice on freezing / defrosting cakes over at the following post on the Q&A here x
Hi… Did u do ganache to the cake before using icing….the cake looks very smoother…
Yes, the cake is ganached prior to icing – you can see this here
