Highlights
Here, we’ve carefully selected the key parts from the entire tutorial and condensed it into an 8 min long video. More than enough to get you started without taking up too much of your time.
1. Stacking and Carving
Molly starts us off by layering the cake into five layers giving us lots of yummy ganache between each layer. She then cuts out a section for the open pie and adds a thin layer of ganache in preparation for cover the entire cake.
2. Covering the cake
In this lesson, Molly covers the cake in one large piece of sugarpaste which she colours using a lovely rainbow dust pro gel. Shen then adds the crust around the edge and generally make the cake feel more like a pie rather than a perfectly round cake.
3. Airbrushing
This is where it really starts to come to life and we struggle to see it as a cake with its realistic textures and colours. You can almost smell the gravy.
4. Covering the board and making the gravy
Molly starts off by covering the board with white sugarpaste and then makes up an incredibly realistic batch of gravy using three everyday ingredients.
5. Making the filling
This is where it gets scarily realistic and incredibly satisfying to watch. Molly makes the filling using a mixture various ingredients that you would never think of that make up the mince and potatoes and mushy peas.
6. Finishing touches
In this final lesson, Molly adds the filling to the cake as well as the mushy peas. She then shows us how to make the chips which look ridiculously realistic and take no time to make. Then to finish it all off she adds some extra gravy to the chips and pie.
