By popular demand on Facebook this Ring on a Pillow cake has been created for those who are romantic at heart.
This cake more than any demonstrates what you can do with ganache which you certainly couldn’t do with buttercream. To achieve the carved cushion shape neatly covered on both sides works well with the quick setting of ganache while buttercream pillow cakes would have to have a very flat appearance.
While most romantics would place their own ring on the pillow there are a number of options in how you can present the focal point. Here Paul’s created a couple of sugar rings (who says romance is dead!) and placed them on a lovely pale pink heart with a bow.
