Highlights
Here we have carefully selected the key parts from the entire tutorial and condensed it into an 10 min long video. More than enough to get you started without taking too much time.
1. The design
Paul takes us through the whole cake design process from beginning to end, complete with hand drawings and detailed explanations.
2. Adding texture
Paul has ganached the cakes and then adds a second layer of ganache to the bottom tier. He focuses on the sides to create a forest floor type of effect.
3. Painting the cakes
In this lesson, Paul gets the lovely edible dusts out and paints the cakes using different brushes to get various textures.
4. Stacking the cake
Paul stacks the cakes, which is a little easier than normal as dummies are lighter… but disaster strikes! Watch to find out.
5. Making the flowers
In this lesson, Paul demonstrates how to make chocolate roses using modelling chocolate.
6. Adding the roses
Paul now begins to add the roses to the cake using spaghetti to secure them, and then builds up by adding additional petals.
7. Finishing the roses
Paul adds the rest of the roses and builds them up with the extra petals to give nice big luscious flowers.
8. Painting the rose
Paul mixes up some beautiful lustres to create gorgeous tones, which he paints on to the roses – giving them stunning textures.
9. Piping the leaves
In this lesson, Paul shows us how to create beautiful piped chocolate leaves and ferns.
10. Finishing touches
Paul finishes it all off by painting the piped leaves, once they have firmed up a little.
