10″ square cake recipe

Hi there…. I use Mrs Jones Vic sponge recipe for 10″ round all the time…. And have scaled to 6″ and 8″ sizes… Always perfect… Not had much success when scaling or converting to square sizes?… Cake dips in the middle so lose a lot when levelling… Anyone have a recipe which is meant for square cakes from the outset?…. Would be very grateful

Hi Mrscloudy i use a recipe very similar to mrs jones, and for a 10″ square i would use
450 sr flour
450 castor sugar
450 butter and 9 medium eggs, this should be right for your size, dont forget the vanilla. 🙂
Split this between 2 10″ tins and bake at 150 C in a fan oven or 170 c standard oven, dont open the door for at least 1hr and 10 mins
