Hello Mrscloudy1

You can change the recipe here http://www.cakeflix.com/blog/how-to-work-out-what-size-cake-tin-to-use
Both the ready reckoner and the cakeometre are easy to use and any recipe can be changed. I believe you followed a recipe conversion by Scarlet, if you are happy with it just enter your ingredients for a 6″ cake and you’ll have the amount you need.

Hello Mrscloudy1

If you’re using Mrs Jones’ recipe from the tutorial use 4 eggs for 6″ cake 4″ deep cake. The eggs actually work out as 3.6 If you’re using a 3″ deep tin use 3 eggs.

Brilliant!…..and last but not least!…..honest….according to the scaling tool ready reckoner, , I have been using the wrong quantities for the 8″ cake……so going to do it in the morning as per the reckoner….do I need 8 eggs for this?….promise I will go away soon! X

Hi Mrscloudy1

You’ll need 6 eggs if calculating from the ready reckoner. However Scarlett posted an 8 egg recipe for you here http://www.cakeflix.com/questions/foolproof-sponge-recipe which I believe worked well for you. Scarlett’s recipe has not been calculated using the RR so her amounts will be different.
