Andrew James 1500 Watt Electric Food Stand Mixer
Hi, the above mixer is a good price on Amazon at moment, does anybody own or able to comment on/recommend? The reviews on Amazon are good,, but they mention the bowl has holes on the bottom, why would that be?? Thanks

Hi I purchased a 1000 w mixer by them and was really disappointed by it. It was very loud and had suction pads to stop it moving around. After three months it blew up. Because I purchased it through Amazon I got a full refund. Sadly you get what you pay for. It really depends on how much you are going to use it, but I wouldn’t buy another one. I may have got a bad one so please don’t be put off too much by my experience.

Hi Ashandiamo
Thought you might like to read some comments on other brand stand mixers here http://www.cakeflix.com/questions/good-quality-stand-mixer. I don’t think the Andrew James mixers are up to heavy duty use although they do sell a lot of them, and as Jennynorthcakes has suggested, she may just have been unlucky.
Take your time before you buy, it’s quite a big outlay and you’ll want something which will last.
Thanks to you both for your advise, any idea why there is holes in the bottom of the bowl???
I don’t know why the holes are there because they don’t seem to serve any purpose, except to catch water when you are washing up!
I have to shake mine after washing to get rid of the water inside.
I don’t like mine as much as I thought I would…..
It’s not something I can really explain properly but after using it a couple of times i decided I like the way my little electric hand mixer worked better…..go figure :o)
