Baking a 4″ sponge

Hi, I’m going to bake some 4″ cakes, for a consultation this friday. I wanted to do all in 4″ so that they can be transported easily and look nice on arrival for the tasting, which I normally hold at home, where things are simpler. Does anyone have a recipe for this and guidance on Gas mark and timings please

Hi DawnW

If you have some recipes in mind you can convert them by using the cakeometer tool here:
http://www.cakeflix.com/blog/how-to-work-out-what-size-cake-tin-to-use
This tool will convert the height as well. My ready reckoner is formulated for 3 inch cakes. If you have any problems just post again.
For oven temperature conversion the chart here will help once you’ve decided on a recipe:

Hope this helps
