does the bear need to be covered in fondant or can it just be piped over ganache?

The fondant keeps the structure together, without it the whole thing could fall apart, not a risk worth taking. The jointed parts would move, crack and fall off. Use a thin amount if you don’t like the fondant, just enough to hold it together. x
