By dairy free do you mean a substitute for the butter, milk, cream or does that include eggs ?

Alternatively you can either use oil, fruit puree or a margarine spread instead of butter and plant based milk and cream. However, when using margarine spread, read the ingredients carefully as some spreads do use buttermilk or other dairy derived products.
Have a look also at the vegan recipes online as they may be more suitable if you don’t want to start substituting ingredients. It’s always worth experimenting with a few ‘free from’ recipes in order to build up a repertoire of some reliable go to bakes. I hope other members will share some trusted recipes with you. 🙂
