Disco Dust – edible?

I have read online that disco dust isn’t edible, but I have used it many times and it is sold alongside petal dusts. Can I keep using it?

Hi sonyarussell

If the container says non toxic it is no longer considered edible and should be used on removable decorations only. As I understand it from the FSA edible products will include E numbers listed in the ingredients and will state clearly for use on cakes. This falls within EU guidelines and also applies to some petal dusts. For edible disco dust just google ‘fully edible disco dust’ or look here for some examples http://www.cakeflix.com/shop/product-category/decoration-presentation/glitter/
Hope this helps.
