dummy fixing and structure

I am planning a three teir dummy. Bottom will be a tree stump, top will be a birdhouse so elevated on a dowel. I hope that I will be able to reuse the tree stump for other projects or at least photos. It is going to go in a shop window, so needs to be nice and secure, I was hoping to assemble it there as it will be quite tall. But I am at a bit of a loss about the structue and how to make it all secure, as it will be a dummy it will all be quite light weight which will help.
I have a round , what I am calling a flange, not sure? that fits onto the dowell and i was going to screw into a board that the bird house sits on. I am just not sure how to fix the bottom, was hoping to just fix it in the second tier, by making sure the dummy fitted nice and snugly, but I am now think that will not be enough…hope this makes sense! Thanks

HI Sue

I’m afraid I’m not very good at assembling structures. Here’s what I would do if my hubby wasn’t around to help me out with power tools.
I would use a plywood base for the board because it will be heavier than an cake board. While buying the board at the diy or timber centre I would ask them how to ashere the pole/dowel into the base and how to make a platform for the bird house to sit on. However there are several tutorials on this site which show how to make structures using dowels and bases which you may find as useful guides. Here are the tutorials:

Wedding Shower

Instructions on building a real bird house mount would be worth having a look at.

I’m so sorry I can’t help more. x
