Hi when I have used these in the last I have just attached them with a little water. Not sure if thats how they are supposed to be added but it works for me,

Have a quick read through this page, http://www.fillyourheartediblememories.com/How-to-apply-edible-images-24.html there’s a few helpful tips there.

From what I gather if you are applying the image to frosting or cream that has not hardened you don’t need to do anything, if your using fondant or your icing has dried out they say to finely spray the surface, not the image, with water!

THANKS VERY MUCH EVERYONE

I bought one before Christmas and when applying to fondant I wet the surface with a damp sponge and it seems to work well.

Hi all. Sorry to hijack this question but I was wondering where’s the best place to get a printer and edible ink from as I’ve been thinking for a while about getting on. Thanks

I have an edible printer, and started off using rice paper. I found it very difficult to get it to stick, as once I had used enough water to make it sticky it went soggy. I got some fondant sheets instead, and they are much better. To stick, I spray the surface with edible glaze and brush it with a pastry brush. Then smooth the image on and you are done 🙂 xx

In my experience, rice paper is not the best media for printing edible images. Look for icing sheet on the internet or eBay – this is an ultra-thin layer of sugarpaste on a backing sheet on which your edible printer will be able print high quality images. Available in A4 (and A3 if you have a BIG cake)!
