Hi all,
Just was wondering if instead of spreading the cupcake with royal icing to secure the flower, if i can use buttercream instead?

You could do, however you might run the risk of spoiling the flower from the grease of the buttercream. The flowers could become very quickly saturated. Best thing to do is pop a piece of rice paper onto some buttercream and see how it holds up. It’s also possible that buttercream may not hold the flower securely enough. Hope this helps.
