hi should i not use alcohol in feeding the traditional christmas cake if children are going to eat it or will the alcohol evaporate x

The alcohol feed is a small amount compared to the size of the cake and most of it evaporates any way. You don’t have to feed it if you are concerned, but a fed cake is so much more moist and the taste is delicious. In my experience young children don’t particularly like traditional Christmas cake, they tend to prefer to a sponge. Perhaps you could give them a choice if you’re expecting young children.
