Freeze Chocolate Cake forsted with Whipped Choclate Ganache?

Hi. Is it possible to freeze a chocolate cake frosted with whipped chocolate ganache? How do you go about wrapping and storing it. And then thawing it later for consumption?

Hi tashas_delights

Yes you can. Let the crumb coat set up so it’s no longer tacky and wrap the cake in several layers of clingfilm and a thick bag. Pop it in a box to protect from freezer burn and from any accidental damage. Bring it to room temperature the night before you need it. I usually remove the wrapping on pre crumbcoated cakes so it doesn’t stick while defrosting. The ganache will keep the moisture in, however keep the cake in the box..
