If you want to omit the nuts, substitute them for the same weight in dry fruit which is soaked with all the other fruit. You could also substitute them with glace cherries or other glace fruits. As always it’s best to wash and dry glace fruit. Toss them in a little flour before adding to the batter to prevent them from sinking to the bottom.
