Gold drip

I’ve covered a cake in buttercream and want to make a gold drip. Do I use runny royal icing and paint it when dry? Or do I paint melted white chocolate? Not sure.

Hi Tomandhen123

Royal icing would give you better results when colouring because it’s pure white. Problem with white chocolate is it isn’t pure white, it has a yellow tinge which may interfere with colour purity. You could use Merckens superwhite candy melts. Hobby craft keep Merckens.
