Hi Everyone,

I’m going to be attempting to make a cake shaped as a horse riding hat/helmet on Saturday. I just wondered if anyone has done one before/or could offer any advise?

I do as Paul does and that is to look at images on google and then download one which you like and use it as a template. Alternatively take a picture of the real thing, enlarge and print it to use as the template. You may need to print out in sections to get the size you want. As a guide take a look at the images here:

There are also a few picture tutorials on ‘how to make football’ and ‘motorbike’ riding helmets which could be also used as carving guides. See them by googling, it’s a place to make a start. Hope it helps.
