Icing to dry and sticky,

Having trouble with kneading icing.always stick’s or goes dry and it’s like elephant skin when I put it on the cake I have had a few classes and was told not to use icing sugar but cornflour.thanks for your great video’s I watch them every night. my brain’s like a sponge soaking up all this information can’t stop baking.thanks again X

Hi Harvey90

Too much icing sugar and cornflour will dry and crack your icing. Knead a little vegetable fat like trex/crisco into the icing before rolling out to help it keep moist. Use a non stick board like Paul uses if you have one, if not sprinkle a little icing sugar on the work surface and roll as quickly as you can. Keep the icing moving at quarter turns. Add a little more icing sugar if it begins to sticks and again roll out quickly so your icing doesn’t have a chance to dry out,
