Icing two boards for a wedding cake

Hello. I am going to do a wedding cake with a 14″ and 16″ board stacked with the bottom tier being a 12″ cake to make a feature, but I can’t decide how to ice, put the ribbon on and in which order. Does this make sense ?? Has anyone done this before and got any advice for me please ???

i think i’ve read this right, what i would do is ice both the boards separatly at the same time and leave to dry for a few days.then use a good dollop of royal icing and put into centre of the large board and put your 14″ drum on the top.lining it up make sure its even.then ice your cake put onto board and ribbon goes on last.that way you will not get any marks on it.does this help?x
